Autochek Africa is an Automotive Technology development company that builds solutions aimed at enabling and enhancing commerce within the automotive sector. We focus on solutions that improve access to Auto loans, quality maintenance / aftersales services, warranty solutions, and transactional marketplaces. We are operational in West and East Africa and we also have developed a partner-led retail footprint with over 500 service centers.

Job Title: Retool Engineer

Role Description

• This is a full-time remote role for a Retool Engineer.
• The Retool engineer will be responsible for developing and maintaining the Autochek software applications.
• The role involves building and updating systems, ensuring their performance, and monitoring them for any issues that may arise.
• The Retool Engineer will play a vital role in ensuring that our software is up-to-date and works seamlessly, making commerce in the automotive industry more accessible for everyone.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or any other relevant field
• At least 2 years of experience in JavaScript and SQL (ReactJS and NextJS are a plus)
• At least 1 year of experience with Retool
• Experience in using open-source software technologies and web applications for APIs, UI development, and databases (PostgreSQL, Redis, MySQL.)
• Proficient experience with CSS and HTML and is familiar with UI/UX standards
• A proven track record of maintaining development best practices and contributing to code quality through code reviews and refactoring
• The ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to prioritize and drive the development of new features
• Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail, with an ability to multitask and prioritize competing demands effectively in a fast-paced setting
