We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Application Administrator

Location: Lagos

What you’ll do

• Measure and optimize system performance, with an eye toward pushing our capabilities forward, getting ahead of customer needs, and innovating to continually improve.
• Provide primary operational support and engineering for multiple large, distributed software applications.
• Run the production environment by monitoring availability and taking a holistic view of system health.
• Automation or elimination of anything repetitive that's also cost-effective to automate or eliminate.
• Responsible for change management by partnering with development teams to improve services through rigorous testing and release procedures.
• Participate in system design consulting, platform management, and capacity planning.
• Responsible for incident management which involves communication with stakeholders and provision of incident reports.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or other highly technical, scientific discipline & at least 3 - 4 years' experience as an SRE / DevOps Engineer/Application Administrator.
• Ability to program (structured and OO) with one or more high level languages, such as Python, Java, C/C++, Ruby, and JavaScript.
• Experience with distributed storage technologies like NFS, HDFS, Ceph, S3 as well as dynamic resource management frameworks (Mesos, Kubernetes, Yarn)
• Experience with cloud computing technologies such as AWS, Azure and GCP.
• Experience with basic database management, Linux and Windows Server OS.
• Experience with monitoring tools such as AWS CloudWatch, Grafana, ELK, New Relic
• Experience with 24/7 shift-based structures.
• A proactive approach to spotting problems, areas for improvement, and performance bottlenecks.
• Behavioral competencies required: Attentiveness, Conscientiousness, Dependability, Proactiveness and an analytical/problem solving mindset.
• Certifications under any of the cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP.
