Job Description

• We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Network Engineer to join our team as an NYSC Intern.
• The successful candidate will assist in maintaining and administering our company's computer networks.
• You will be part of a team that is responsible for managing and supporting network systems to ensure network security and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Assist in configuring and installing various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN).
• Monitor network performance and ensure system availability and reliability.
• Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes, and security configurations.
• Support and administer third-party applications.
• Ensure network security through access controls, backups, and firewalls.
• Monitor and test network performance; provide network performance statistics and reports.
• Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval, and success of changes made to the network infrastructure.
• Assist in resolving network-related issues and provide technical support.

Requirements

• Currently undergoing NYSC with a background in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of network operating systems (Cisco, JUNOS, etc.).
• Knowledge of networking protocols (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF) and tools (e.g., ping, traceroute).
• Familiarity with security issues and technologies (e.g., firewalls, intrusion detection systems).
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
