Job Title: Senior IT Infrastructure / System Administrator

Location: Lagos
Schedule: Full Time

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and administering multiple VMWare environments and managing multiple virtual server instances.
• Manage all DNS and DHCP servers and scopes as well as domain controllers and member servers.
• Correct Java relate problems that lead to overall better productivity of the server, storage and network teams.
• Establish and manage VLAN and IP addressing standards (components, design) supporting IPT and other technologies.
• Manage firewalls, Switches, Routers, Servers with Microsoft and Linux at the production environment providing secure configurations and monitoring of the firewall logs.
• Manage development, manufacturing, test and delivery of custom broadband RF electronic test systems for military and aerospace customers.
• Lead a team.
• Used WebSphere to start/stop Java applications and queues.
• Perform LAN traffic analysis on major network segments.
• Experience with server patching and network maintenance of LAN.
• Create Jenkins build and packaging jobs for all C++ components on CentOS.
• Monitor network traffic via sniffers to ensure encryption and proper data flow.
• Administer all IIS servers and added/modify websites as they become live.
• Monitor all the elements and instances using Perl script, k or c shell script.
• Install WebSphere MQ 7 and upgrade till 7.0.1.3 on n-tier architecture on Linux 32/64 bit machines.
• Work with L2 & L3 SAN and network switch vendor engineers to analyze and resolve technical issues.
• Work with networking team to configure routers, switches, and cache engines (Cisco equipment).
• Design and implement upgrades, new systems, and software applications to meet changing business needs, in collaboration with other IT professionals and departments.
• Manage the organization’s network, servers, operating systems, and applications, ensuring that all systems are up-to-date and secure.
• Monitor system performance, identify and debug issues, and implement solutions to ensure optimal performance.
• Provide technical support to end-users to resolve hardware and software issues and ensure the efficient operation of IT systems.
• Develop and implement backup and recovery procedures to protect critical information in the event of system failure.
• Create and maintain documentation on IT systems and procedures to ensure smooth operations and facilitate knowledge sharing among IT staff members.
• Handle system security, access, and authorization to protect the organization’s data and systems from unauthorized access.
• Train and mentor junior IT staff members to ensure they have the necessary skills to effectively manage IT systems, and to keep up with technological advancements.
• Provide primary administration and technical support for foundation servers, hubs, routers, firewalls, switches and software.
• Play a key role in evaluating, establishing and conducting proof of concepts of various on premise vs off-premise cloud solutions.
• Head up all monitoring, metric, and remote administration tasks, including remote deployment and management of Linux systems.
• Investigate and propose operational changes including: procurement, vendor relations, licensing, system architecture and security.
• Involve in LDAP schema modification in ISIM6.0 involve in environment building for development.
• Create many xml to extract the information from LDAP and DB2 base on the business requirement by using TDI6.0.
• Complete VMware virtual environment management.
• Serve as SME for strategic planning sessions, data center consolidations, and in new deal offerings to win new business.
• Administer of RHEL which includes installation, testing, tuning, upgrading and loading patches, and troubleshooting server issues.
• Provide SME support for HBSS and all point products.
• Experience in configuration and maintain NAGIOS, hammer monitoring tools.
• Support servers, applications using various tools including monitoring, restarting the failed applications when notify from NAGIOS and BMC.
• Develop playbooks ruby shell scripts for build and deployment and configuration release process.

Requirements

• Must be conversant with Server configurations in both Linux and Microsoft environment.
• The candidate that have experience with Hyper-converge and managing onsite datacenter
• A bachelor's degree or HND in computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Electronics, Information Technology or related field.
• He must be ready to work
• Minimum of 7years of demonstrable experience
• Proven experience as a Systems Administrator or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of operating systems, network protocols, and hardware components.
• Experience with virtualization technologies, cloud environments, and containerization.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects.
• Expert knowledge of various operating systems such as Windows, Linux, and UNIX.
• Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
• Strong understanding of networking concepts including DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, and VPN.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with various stakeholders and team members.
• Ability to organize priorities, manage time effectively, and work independently as well as in a team.
• Experience managing storage systems such as SAN, NAS, RAID.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware and software issues.
• Experience with Cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is a plus.
• Experience with third-party libraries and APIs
• Superior analytical skills with a good problem-solving attitude
• Ability to perform in a team environment
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Ability to interpret and follow technical plans
