We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Accountant (Intermidiate)

Location: Marwa Bus Stop, Lekki - Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting:

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Monthly Bank reconciliation
• Ensure timely and accurate financial data reporting in compliance with regulatory requirements.

General Ledger Maintenance:

• Maintain and oversee the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data.
• Perform regular reconciliations of bank statements, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other balance sheet accounts.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

• Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and periodic forecasts.
• Monitor and report on budget variances and provide detailed analysis to management.

Compliance and Audits:

• Ensure compliance with internal policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate and assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.

Tax Compliance:

• Prepare and file tax returns, ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations.
• Assist in the preparation of tax provisions and support tax planning initiatives.

Process Improvement:

• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of accounting operations.
• Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures.

Team Collaboration and Training:

• Work closely with the finance team and cross-functional departments.
• Provide training and support to junior accounting staff as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Professional certification (CPA, ACCA, ICAN, CMA) preferred but not mandatory
• Proficiency in accounting preferably QuickBooks (very important)
• Must have 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• High level of integrity and professionalism.
