Job Title: Senior Product Manager

Location: Nigeria
Reports To: Head, New Business Development

Job Summary

• Responsible for the development, testing, and enhancement of bespoke software applications.
• This role involves managing a team of software developers, testers, and user experience engineers to ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions that meet user preferences and business requirements.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of software developers, testers, and user experience engineers.
• Foster a collaborative and productive team environment, ensuring effective communication and coordination.
• Work closely with stakeholders to identify user preferences and gather detailed software requirements.
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications for the development team.
• Supervise the development of bespoke software applications, ensuring adherence to best practices and industry standards.
• Provide technical guidance and support to the development team as needed.
• Oversee the testing process to ensure software applications are thoroughly tested and meet quality standards.
• Coordinate with testers to identify and resolve defects and ensure that all software developed are reliable and user-friendly.
• Engage with users to gather feedback and identify areas for improvement in software applications.
• Implement user-centered design principles to enhance the overall user experience.
• Maintain accurate project documentation, including project plans, progress reports, and technical specifications.
• Perform other tasks as may be assigned by the Head, New Business Development.

• In addition to the function-specific competencies and experience, interested applicants must be self-starters, who possess entrepreneurial acumen and a “can-do” spirit needed to navigate a competitive business landscape.

Competency and Skill Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Up to 6 years of experience in IT project management, with a strong background in software development and application lifecycle management.
• Possession of relevant professional certificationis a plus.
• In-depth knowledge of software development methodologies, programming languages, and development tools.
• Effective leadership and team management skills with the ability to supervise and motivate a diverse team.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
• Understanding of user experience principles and the ability to implement user-centered design practices.
• High level of attention to detail and quality assurance to ensure software excellence.
• Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and environments, ensuring project continuity and success.
