We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Quantity Surveyor

Responsibilities

• Guide the team in developing accurate and detailed Quantity Take-Offs (QTOs) for construction projects. Analyze project plans, specifications, and drawings to identify and quantify materials, labor, and equipment needed.
• Oversee the effective management of project materials and equipment inventory within the store. This includes implementing proper receiving, storing, and issuing procedures to ensure material availability and minimize waste.
• Develop and maintain accurate cost estimates based on QTOs, market research, and historical data. Monitor cost fluctuations and identify potential cost savings throughout the project lifecycle.
• Lead the procurement process, including preparing bid packages, soliciting bids from vendors, evaluating proposals, and negotiating contracts with suppliers to secure the best value for the project.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key vendors and suppliers. Negotiate favorable pricing and terms, ensure on-time delivery, and manage vendor performance.
• Oversee contract administration, ensuring compliance with contract terms and conditions. Track changes, manage variations and claims, and process invoices for payment.
• Monitor project budgets and identify potential cost overruns. Work with project stakeholders to develop cost-saving strategies and ensure project stays within budget.
• Motivate, coach, and develop your team members. This includes assigning tasks, providing clear direction and feedback, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and teamwork.
• Prepare reports on project costs, procurement activities, and vendor performance. Keep project stakeholders informed of cost trends and potential risks.
• Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with quantity surveying and procurement activities. This may include material price fluctuations, delivery delays, or supplier performance issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Project Management or a closely related field.
• Membership of relevant professional body.
• Minimum 5-7 years of experience in quantity surveying and/or procurement within the construction industry
• Proficient in quantity surveying software (e.g., Synchro, CostX) and project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).

Salary
N200,000 Monthly.
