Job Title: Chief Security Officer / Security Manager 

Locations: Lagos & Ogun

Job Description

• The Security Manager is directly responsible for defining and reviewing the Security Management System (SMS) for the project, ensuring contractors' SMS are maintained and audited, with gaps clearly identified and mitigated during project development.
• The role involves proactively using security reporting indices to prevent incidents and high-potential incidents on the project.
• Additionally, the Security Manager will assist the project team in organizing, implementing, and auditing SMS procedures related to the project.

Responsibilities

• Lead the definition and implementation of an effective security policy, covering the protection of personnel, care for the environment, and preservation of installations.
• Manage all security personnel (Company, Contractors, and Government Security Forces - GSF) within the package to achieve the project's desired security objectives.
• Ensure compliance with regulations, reference documents, and best practices in the application of the security policy in activities (construction/commissioning/start-up).
• Develop, communicate, and maintain project-specific security procedures and work instructions to be applied by all personnel, including contractors and GSF.
• Champion the training and preparedness of security personnel (Company, Contractors, and GSF), ensuring adequate attention is drawn to any lack of compliance.
• Continuously seek opportunities to enhance the Security Management System and promote a safer and more sustainable working environment.
• Carry out any other duties as may be assigned by the Senior Project Manager.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Security Management or a related field at minimum.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in Security Management (in a similar position) within the Oil & Gas industry.
• Strong leadership and management skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient in security management software.
• Must demonstrate the ability to act independently as part of a team.
