Job Description

• As an accountant, you'll be responsible for account closing and financial report preparation, taxation, and internal control system follow-ups. Your role entails account coding & encoding, account receivable, payment authorization, tax filling, and audit coordination.
• You'll also gather, review, analyze, and present financial and non-financial information from various sources within and outside the company and make recommendations that will impact the company positively.
• You'll report directly to the Managing Director of the Company.

Responsibilities

• Preparing balance sheets, profit & loss statements, and other monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
• Coordinating internal control activities across the business to ensure the Company’s revenue sustenance
• Understand the legislation of the country and be able to calculate cost production taking into account the specifics of the legislation of the country
• Ensuring the accuracy of financial documents, as well as their compliance with relevant laws and regulations
• Preparing tax returns and ensuring that taxes are paid properly and on time
• Evaluating financial operations to recommend best practices, identify issues and strategize solutions, and help organizations run efficiently
• Offering guidance on cost reduction, revenue enhancement, and profit maximization
• Conducting forecasting and risk analysis assessments
• Performing all other duties that will enhance profitability, productivity and going concern status of the company

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or any related field.
• Possession of ACCA or ACA, CFA is an added advantage.
• Minimum 3 years of experience, preferably in a financial reporting role in an Import/Export firm.
• Strong analytical and financial modeling skills with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other analytical tools
• Strong presentation skills with advanced knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint and other presentation tools
• Advanced skills in other Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Outlook, and MS Project.
