English Language Teacher (College) at Distinct Star School

Distinct Star School was founded on the firm belief that every child is a star and that our job is to create the right environment for our stars to shine. Starting as a Creche in January 2010 Distinct Star has by the grace of God now expanded to include both a Primary and an International college with over 500sqm learning spaces.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: English Language Teacher (College)

Location: Lagos

Key Responsibilities
Curriculum and Instruction:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive English curriculum.
• Conduct classes using both the British and Nigeria blended curriculum topics.
• Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback and support.

Student Engagement:

• Encourage active participation in the class.
• Organize and oversee extracurricular activities in the subject area.
• Promote teamwork and collaboration among peers.
• Teach and train students for both internal and external examination.
• Address health-related issues within the school community.

Safety and Supervision:

• Ensure student safety during physical activities.
• Maintain and inspect school equipment and facilities for safety.

Collaboration:

• Work with other teachers and staff to support student learning.
• Participate in school meetings and parent-teacher conferences.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in English Education.
• Recognized Teaching certification or licensure in English education.
• Previous experience teaching English at the primary or secondary school level.
• Teaching and Training for internal, external examination and relevant competition.
• Strong knowledge of English Language principles.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to motivate and inspire students.
