Job Title: Head, Technology and Digital Transformation

Job Description

• Responsible for technology systems, processes, software design, and development.
• They play a crucial role in setting the company's strategic direction, development, and future growth, providing technical leadership through coaching and mentorship.
• The ideal candidate should be well-versed in current technological trends and familiar with a variety of business concepts.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide vision and direction for all aspects of technology development.
• Manage the organization's internal innovation process.
• Spearhead configurations with collaborators and create new business models.
• Identify and assess new technologies that could impact the company's business.
• Develop long-term strategic plans for the company's technical direction and growth.
• Oversee the entire engineering team, manage a budget exceeding N100m, and ensure that all products are developed to high standards.
• Evaluate and select vendors and partners, negotiate contracts, and manage relationships.
• Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences.
• Hire, train, and mentor the engineering team, instilling a culture of excellence, innovation, and collaboration.
• Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to position the company's products in the marketplace.
• Develop and implement processes and tools to measure and improve the productivity of the engineering team.
• Stay abreast of advances in technology and trends in the marketplace.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
• 8 - 10 years minimum experience, full-stack engineer, well-versed in current technological trends, core coding experience.
• Prior experience in a technical leadership position.
• 5+ years in a management or leadership role.
• 10+ years in a software development role.
• Expertise in multiple programming languages and platforms.
• Solid understanding of algorithms, data structures, and software design principles.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Strategic thinking and strong business acumen.
• Advanced technological skillset and a demonstrated history with technology.

Preferred Competency Requirements:

• Significant Software and Product Development Expertise.
• Working Cyber Security Expertise.
• Working Data, Data Management, Data Engineering, Big Data Technologies.
• Proficiency in database development, web development technologies, and user interface design and prototyping.
• Advanced technical training certifications, such as Azure, AWS, or GCP certifications.
