About The Job

• Our Client, a Startup in the Education and Employment sector in Nigeria dedicated to shaping the future of the work landscape in Africa, is seeking a detailed and experienced Junior QA Engineer to join the team in building a robust and world-class product
• As a Junior QA Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products. You will work closely with our development and QA teams to develop and execute test plans, identify and report bugs, and ensure our products meet the highest standards of quality.

Responsibilities

• Test Planning and Design: Assist in the creation of detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases.
• Manual Testing: Execute test cases (manual or automated) and analyze results to ensure software meets the requirements.
• Bug Reporting: Identify, document, and track bugs using bug-tracking tools. Work closely with developers to ensure timely resolution.
• Automation Support: Assist in the development and maintenance of automated test scripts using appropriate tools and frameworks.
• Collaboration: Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and other QA engineers, to ensure the delivery of high-quality software.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest industry trends and best practices in software testing. Take initiative to learn new skills and enhance your expertise.
• Documentation: Assist in documenting product and business specifications to ensure clear and concise communication of requirements and features

Required Technologies and Tools:

• Manual Testing
• Bug Tracking Tools (e.g. Trello,JIRA
• Documentation – gitbook

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in software testing or a related field.
• Solid understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and software testing lifecycle (STLC).
• Experience with manual testing and familiarity with automated testing tools.
• Basic understanding of programming languages (e.g., JavaScript, Python) is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with team members.
• Familiarity with version control systems, we use Git.
• Any experience working with CI/CD pipelines and bug-tracking tools is a bonus
