Job Title: Purchase Officer

Job Overview

• The Purchase Officer will be responsible for managing the procurement process for CAPEX (capital expenditures) and OPEX (operational expenditures) including factory machinery parts, automobile parts, IT gadgets, and consumables.
• The ideal candidate will have 4-6 years of relevant experience, a B.Sc. or HND in a related field, and be familiar with vendors in the South-West region of Nigeria.
• The role requires a proactive individual who is smart, ready to work on the field, and capable of contributing to our procurement efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the purchasing of factory machinery parts, automobile parts, IT gadgets, and consumables.
• Ensure timely and cost-effective procurement in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Identify and establish relationships with reliable vendors and suppliers, particularly in the South-West region.
• Negotiate terms, prices, and delivery schedules to secure the best deals and maintain favorable relationships.
• Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and stay updated on industry trends and pricing.
• Analyze supplier performance and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Prepare and issue purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Track orders and manage inventory levels to prevent stockouts and overstock situations.
• Inspect received goods and services to ensure they meet quality and specification standards.
• Address any discrepancies or issues with suppliers promptly.
• Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, supplier agreements, and inventory levels.
• Generate reports on procurement activities, expenditures, and savings.
• Perform site visits and inspections as needed to ensure proper supplier performance and resolve any on-site issues.
• Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• B.Sc. or HND in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related discipline.
• 4-6 years of experience in general purchasing, including CAPEX and OPEX, with a reputable manufacturing company.
• Strong familiarity with vendors and suppliers in the South-West region.
• Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and proactively in a dynamic environment.
