Job Title: Laboratory Advisor

Responsibilities
Generic Responsibilities:
Ensure adherence with PIHC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines
Oversee laboratory programmatic reporting, identify and address potential issues proactively, taking corrective actions when needed.
Respond to client inquiries and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner
Provide accurate information about organizational laboratory standard operating procedures
Develop a comprehensive implementation strategy tailored to Nigeria’s context.
Ensure Smooth day to day running of the department
Promote and share ideas for improvement of the laboratory function
Specific responsibilities:
Respond to client inquiries and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner
Provide accurate information about organizational laboratory standard operating procedures
Troubleshoot and resolve client complaints and concerns
Utilize problem-solving skills to address complex client’s issues
Collaborate with internal teams to resolve client’s issues and improve processes
Maintain accurate records of client’s interactions
Manages the PiHC team and PiHC operations and provides strategic oversight of operations.
Support and Supervise clinical investigations/test According to medical prescription, with appropriate techniques and following PiHC protocols and procedures.
Performing laboratory exams (serology, hematology, biochemistry, bacteriology, or parasitological, according to the context of the mission).
Ensuring proper reporting and registration of the sample results to keep a written track of activity and give information to the relevant persons, ensuring confidentiality.
Supporting in taking care, managing, and organizing efficiently the laboratory material/equipment.
Ensure all PiHC Supporting facilities adhere to the minimum hygiene and safety protocols, doing daily cleaning /maintenance, sterilization, and washing general glassware after procedures.
Ensuring implementation of proper sample waste disposal following PiHC protocols and highest safety standards.
Support in implementing and management of effective Supply order, stock management procedure, storage conditions follow-up, keep inventory.
Design and implement an organized data collection system of laboratory results and all information generated from the analysis done.
Responsible for providing implementation support and guidance to Team members.
Coordinate and oversee donor visits within the Country in coordination with the Team Members
YourProfile(EligibilityRequirements)
Minimum of B.Sc., M.Sc. in Medical Laboratory Sciences or its recognized equivalent
Minimum of Five (5) years of work experience
Candidates must be a Computer literate
Possess a Positive attitude (demonstrate integrity, confidentiality, approachability and diplomacy).
Ability to withstand work-related pressure, and deliver task in line with PiHC quality standard
Must possess good communication skills both verbal and written.
Fluency in English Language is a must
Experience in the implementation of Donor funded project.
Functional / Technical:
Experience Implementing public health programs in resource limited settings.
Experience implementing medical research laboratories.
At least 5 years experience working with an NGO.
Experience working with young people and adolescents providing prevention serviced with referral options.
