We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Litigation Associate

Location: Lagos

Job Details

• Independently manage a litigation caseload, working cases from intake to conclusion.
• Represent clients in litigation.
• Work closely with other attorneys and Partners on legal projects.
• Regularly handle court appearances, depositions, and mediations.
• Communicate regularly with clients and provide defense plans and status reports.
• Draft, review and negotiate broad range commercial agreements related to the energy, finance & shipping.
• Advise business stakeholders on project bids, risk, due diligence and other related matters.
• Advise stakeholders on possible legal risk and provide mitigation strategies.
• Ensure compliance to client’s policies and regulatory requirements.
• Assist to draft policies, guidelines, legal templates and other documents to ensure best practices.
• Attend to all aspects and issues related to project development and financing.
• Structure, draft, review and effectively negotiate membership interest purchase and sale agreements, power purchase agreements, engineering, procurement and construction contracts.
• Perform diligence and provide diligence guidance to development teams and external counsel regarding project acquisition and greenfield development.
• Provide general legal counsel and strategic guidance to other Associates in the department.
