Short-Term Consultant - Training of Board Members at Widows and Orphans Empowerment Organization (WEWE)

Widows and Orphans Empowerment Organisation (WEWE) is a not – for – profit, Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) that was founded in 2004 by Josephine Ogazi and Joseph Egwuonwu. WEWE started out as a Community Based Organisation (CBO) with the aim of providing scholarships and economic empowerment to orphans and widows in Okigwe, Imo State and has since expanded its aims and objectives. WEWE is registered as a national NGO with CAC under incorporated trustees and its registration number is CAC/IT/NO33132.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Title: Short-Term Consultant - Training of Board Members

Location: Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Contract

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Must have a standard training curriculum which will be used
• Draft training goals and objectives
• Review the existing Board Terms of Reference (TOR)
• Update the existing Board Manual
• Train Board members on Organizational and Board governance
• Board performance evaluation and action plan development
• Write a detailed report on the Board training
• Draft pre and post-training assessment.

Duration of Assignment:

• The assignment is to be completed within One (1) week from the date of the official signing of the contract.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate Degree in relevant course with 10-15 years experience
• Professional certification will be an added advantage.

Experience:

• Working in a local or international NGO or a similar entity that has a Board
• Has experience being a board member or a Board chair
• Has experience developing a Board manual
• Has evidence that you have done these trainings before with references
• Understanding of NGO and non NGO Board manual
• Minimum of five to ten years of experience in conducting Board Training.
