Job Title: Intermediate Scrum Master

Location: Lagos

Job Brief

• We seek a motivated and experienced Scrum Master to guide and support agile teams in delivering high-quality solutions.
• The Scrum Master will ensure that the team adheres to Scrum principles and practices, fostering continuous improvement and maximising team performance.
• This role requires exceptional communication, facilitation, and leadership skills to remove obstacles, manage sprint planning, and ensure the timely delivery of projects.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate Scrum Events: Lead daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and other Scrum ceremonies to ensure effective communication and collaboration within the team.
• Ensure Scrum Practices: Educate and coach teams on Scrum practices and Agile principles to promote continuous improvement and ensure efficient delivery.
• Remove Impediments: Identify and eliminate obstacles that may hinder team progress, fostering an environment of transparency and accountability.
• Support Product Owner: Work closely with the Product Owner to manage the product backlog, ensuring the team is aligned with the business goals and objectives.
• Improve Team Performance: Monitor team performance metrics and sprint goals, fostering a culture of feedback and improvement through retrospectives and collaboration.
• Promote Agile Culture: Encourage an Agile mindset and collaborative work environment by advocating for Scrum values and principles across the organization.
• Stakeholder Communication: Act as a point of contact for external stakeholders, ensuring alignment and clarity of expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
• Team Building: Foster a collaborative, supportive team culture by addressing team dynamics and promoting mutual respect and trust.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience as a Scrum Master in Agile environments.
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.).
• Experience with project management and Agile tools such as Jira, Confluence, or Trello.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
• Ability to manage and resolve conflicts effectively.
• Experience working in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment.
