Job Title: Facility Assistant / Artisan

Location: Ikeja, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • The Facility Assistant is responsible for supporting the efficient operation and maintenance of the facility.
  • This role involves performing routine inspections, minor repairs, cleaning tasks, and coordinating with external vendors to ensure the facility remains safe, clean, and well-maintained.
  • The Facility Assistant will work closely with the Facility Manager to address any issues promptly and help maintain a comfortable and functional environment for all facility users.

Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Repairs:

  • Conduct routine inspections of the facility to identify and address maintenance needs.
  • Perform minor repairs, such as fixing leaks, changing light bulbs, and repairing doors or windows.
  • Assist in the upkeep of HVAC systems, plumbing, and electrical systems as required.
  • Report major maintenance issues to the Facility Manager and coordinate with external vendors for repairs.

Cleaning & Housekeeping:

  • Ensure all common areas, restrooms, and workspaces are clean and well-maintained.
  • Restock supplies in restrooms and break rooms as needed.
  • Oversee the waste management process, including the disposal of trash and recycling.

Safety & Security:

  • Monitor the facility to ensure that safety protocols are followed, including emergency exits, fire extinguishers, and security systems.
  • Address any safety hazards immediately and report them to the Facility Manager.
  • Assist in implementing and maintaining security measures, such as access control systems and surveillance.

Inventory & Supplies:

  • Manage inventory levels of cleaning and maintenance supplies.
  • Order new supplies as needed and maintain organized storage areas.
  • Track and document the use of materials and equipment.

Coordination & Communication:

  • Liaise with external contractors and vendors for specialized maintenance tasks.
  • Communicate with facility users and staff to address concerns or requests.
  • Provide support during facility events, including setup and teardown.

Administrative Support:

  • Maintain records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
  • Assist the Facility Manager with administrative tasks, such as scheduling maintenance and updating facility logs.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification in facility management is a plus.
  • Proven experience in facility management, maintenance, or a related field.
  • Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and general repair skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Physical ability to perform manual tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.

Working Conditions:

  • The role may require working in various indoor and outdoor environments.
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, or holidays, depending on the facility's needs.
  • The position may involve lifting and moving heavy objects

Salary
N50,000 - N70,000 Monthly.
