Locations: Adamawa, Bauchi and Sokoto
Slots: 210 (70 for each state)

Job Description

• We are seeking diligent and detail-oriented Data Collectors to assist in conducting the Early Grade Reading Assessment (EGRA) in selected schools across the sampled LGAs in Sokoto, Bauchi and Adamawa.
• The EGRA is designed to evaluate the reading skills of early-grade pupils to inform educational interventions. Data Collectors will play a crucial role in gathering accurate and reliable data to support this important educational initiative.

Objectives of the Assessment:

• Ensure the precise and reliable collection of data on early-grade reading abilities.
• Contribute to a broader understanding of literacy levels among early-grade pupils to support evidence-based decision-making in education.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Attend comprehensive training sessions on EGRA administration, data collection techniques, and ethical standards.
• Review and become thoroughly familiar with the EGRA instruments and data collection protocols.
• Conduct the EGRA in assigned schools, following a pre-determined schedule.
• Participate in debriefing sessions to discuss observations and findings with the assessment team.
• Maintain confidentiality of all data collected.
• Regular check-ins with the project lead to ensure adherence to data collection protocols.

Deliverables:

• Completed survey forms uploaded to the project secure server.
• Daily field reports

Requirements

• Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English and local
• languages of the respective states.
• Access to a smartphone and ability to use it proficiently.
• Familiarity with the school system and educational institutions.
• Domicile in the sampled LGA.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Prior experience with collection of EGRA data is an added advantage.
