Job Title: Accountant

Location: Lekki, Lagos

Job Summary

• The role involves analyzing financial data to support business decisions, monitoring revenue streams, and implementing internal controls to safeguard the company's assets.
• The suitable candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial health and profitability of the hospitality business, overseeing budgeting and forecasting, managing costs, ensuring tax compliance, payroll Management and maintaining accurate financial records.
• The ideal candidate must have a strong background in financial management, excellent analytical skills, and a deep understanding of the unique financial needs and challenges within the hospitality industry.

Responsibilities

• Prepare financial reports on a regular and timely basis and make presentation to management on a monthly basis
• Keep proper and accurate record of all financial transactions, ensuring maximum compliance with internal control procedure.
• Provide accurate, timely and relevant financial data to management, including account receivables and payable, etc.
• Responsible for payroll preparation and administration
• Reconciliation of bank accounts including Point Of Sales (POS)
• Responsible for budget preparation, monitoring and preparation of variance analysis
• Ensure regular and prompt deduction and remittance of all statutory payments e.g. VAT, PAYE, Consumption tax, etc
• Perform detailed financial analysis to support decision-making, such as profit margins, occupancy rates, and cost per guest.
• Oversee revenue accounting, including room rates, event services, and other revenue streams.
• Implement strategies to maximize revenue, such as pricing adjustments and promotions
• Manage the processing of invoices and payments, ensuring timely and accurate transactions.
• Reconcile accounts and resolve any discrepancies with vendors or clients.
• Responsible for inventory management and control

Basic Requirements

• B.Sc / HND in Accounting/Banking & Finance/Relevant courses
• Minimum 5 years proven experience in Financial Reporting, Strategy and Planning, Budgeting etc.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or Microsoft Dynamics).
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis tools.
• Strong Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Ability to analyze financial data and generate accurate reports.
• Identify financial discrepancies and resolve them effectively.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines efficiently
• Excellent Organization Skills and effective communication & interpersonal skills
• Detail Oriented with a focus on accuracy & efficiency
• Certification such as ACA, ACCA, or CPA is an added advantage
• Proximity is key.
