Job Description

• We are looking for smart, young, and vibrant individuals for their graduate trainee program.
• The Graduate Trainee Loan Collector is responsible for supporting the credit and collections team by contacting borrowers with overdue loans, negotiating repayment plans, and helping maintain the financial health of the organization.
• This entry-level role is designed for recent graduates and provides comprehensive training in debt recovery and customer service.

Key Responsibilities
Loan Collection:

• Contact customers with overdue loan payments via phone, email, or letters.
• Follow up on delinquent accounts to negotiate repayment schedules.
• Record and document customer interactions and payment agreements.

Customer Support:

• Respond to customer inquiries regarding loan balances, payment due dates, and penalties.
• Provide accurate and timely information to customers in a professional manner.
• Assist borrowers in understanding their repayment options and financial obligations.

Compliance & Reporting:

• Ensure all collection activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Prepare and maintain detailed records of collection efforts.
• Report on the status of accounts and payment plans to senior management.

Training & Development:

• Participate in company-provided training sessions on debt recovery, negotiation, and financial regulations.
• Collaborate with team members to develop effective collection strategies.
• Stay updated on industry trends and new laws affecting loan collections.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle difficult conversations.
• Basic understanding of loan products, financial services, and credit principles (training will be provided).
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Requirements:

• A minimum of 1-year job experience
• Strong persuasion and negotiation skills;
• Energetic with a passion for customer service;
• Must be Computer literate.
• Have the ability to influence and collaborate with a team;
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the confidence to interact at all levels of the organization.

Salary Range
N55,000 Monthly + commission or performance pay range from 0 - N40,000.
