Role Overview

• Lead Core Network Engineer will lead the implementation and operation of mobile network's core infrastructure, ensuring high-quality voice and data services for customers.
• He/she must have a strong background in mobile network implementation, operation, and maintenance, excellent leadership skills, and expertise in managing large-scale mobile networks (2G/3G/4G).

Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation and operation of mobile core network elements (MSC,HLR,STP, SGSN, GGSN, MME, SGW, PGW, etc.)
• Manage a team of core network engineers to ensure successful implementation and operation of mobile network projects
• Develop and implement mobile network implementation and operation standards, policies, and procedures
• Collaborate with other teams (e.g., BSS, Product Management, and Customer Service) to ensure seamless integration of mobile services
• Conduct network performance analysis, troubleshooting, and optimization
• Ensure mobile network security, compliance, and risk management
• Manage vendor relationships and ensure timely delivery of projects
• Communicate mobile network implementation and operation plans, status, and issues to stakeholders, including management and customers
• Any other duties assigned.

Educational and Professional Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field
• At least 6 years of experience in mobile network implementation and operation.

Required Competencies:

• The post holder must be able to demonstrate appropriate skills and experience which will enable him/her to deliver in line with the main purpose and key responsibilities of the role.

More specifically, the following competencies are required to succeed in the role:

• Strong knowledge of mobile network protocols (SS7, SIP, Diameter, etc.), architecture, and security.
• Must understand camel flow
• Must have a good understanding of SS7.
• Strong knowledge of UNIX/Linux operating systems and RDBMS and Scripting skill.
• Experience with mobile network virtualization (NFV) and software-defined networking (SDN)
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Experience with mobile network automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Python)
• Industry certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent) preferred.
