Job Summary

• We are seeking an experienced and skilled Sous Chef to join our culinary team.
• As a Sous Chef, you will be responsible for assisting the Executive Chef in the daily operations of the kitchen, including menu planning, food preparation, and staff supervision.

Key Responsibilities
Assist the Executive Chef:

• Support the Executive Chef in menu planning, food preparation, and presentation.
• Assist in managing kitchen operations, including ordering, inventory, and cost control.

Supervise Kitchen Staff:

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff, including cooks, stewards, and dishwashers.
• Ensure that all staff members are aware of and adhere to hotel policies and procedures.

Food Preparation and Presentation:

• Prepare and cook menu items to the highest standards of quality and presentation.
• Ensure that all dishes are prepared and presented in a timely manner.

Kitchen Maintenance and Safety:

• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety standards.
• Ensure that all equipment is properly maintained and stored.

Inventory Management:

• Assist in managing inventory levels, including ordering and receiving supplies.
• Ensure that all stock is stored and rotated correctly.

Quality Control:

• Conduct regular quality control checks to ensure that all food is prepared to the highest standards.
• Implement corrective actions to address any quality control issues.

Requirements
Education and Training:

• Diploma or degree in culinary arts or related field.
• Certification as a Sous Chef or equivalent.

Experience:

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Sous Chef in a hotel or restaurant environment.

Skills and Knowledge:

• Strong culinary skills and knowledge of cooking techniques.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 kg.
