Job Summary

• The Loan Verification Officer is responsible for reviewing and verifying loan application information to ensure accuracy and compliance with the institution's guidelines and regulatory standards.
• This position involves interacting with applicants, reviewing financial documents, and working closely with the loan processing team to facilitate the loan approval process.

Key Responsibilities
Document Verification:

• Review loan applications and verify the accuracy of submitted documents such as income statements, tax returns, credit reports, and bank statements.
• Ensure all necessary documents are complete and meet the institution's requirements.
• Verify applicants’ identity, employment status, and income to confirm the eligibility for loans.

Communication:

• Communicate with loan applicants to request additional information or clarify details.
• Work with internal teams such as loan processors, underwriters, and customer service to ensure the smooth flow of the loan application process.
• Liaise with external agencies for additional verifications, such as credit bureaus or employment verification services.

Compliance and Risk Assessment:

• Ensure that loan applications comply with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.
• Identify any potential risks or fraudulent activities associated with loan applications and report to senior management.
• Stay updated with changes in financial regulations and implement necessary changes to the verification process.

Data Management:

• Accurately input and maintain loan application data in the institution's loan processing system.
• Prepare and maintain detailed records of loan verification activities for audit purposes.
• Generate and submit reports on loan application status and verification outcomes to management.

Customer Service:

• Provide clear and concise information to loan applicants regarding the status of their applications.
• Assist applicants with understanding the loan verification process and respond to inquiries in a timely manner.
• Ensure a positive customer experience while maintaining the integrity of the verification process.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or HND in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Prior experience in loan processing, verification, or underwriting is preferred.
• Strong understanding of financial documents and credit analysis.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Proficiency in using loan processing software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Salary
N50,000 - N55,000 Monthly.
