We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Database Administrator

Location: Yaba, Lagos
Employment Type: Full Time

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain SQL Server and MYSQL databases from development through production environments.
• Configure and monitor database servers to ensure peak performance, availability, and security.
• Implement data modelling techniques to support integration and performance goals.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database issues promptly and effectively.
• Automate routine tasks and document changes to streamline processes.
• Assist with query optimization and schema design to enhance system performance.
• Provide 24/7 support for mission-critical systems.
• Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployments outside regular hours.

Requirements

• A university degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Certifications in Microsoft SQL Server and other database management systems.
• 3+ years of experience in database administration with a focus on Microsoft SQL Server(compulsory)
• Experience in the fintech industry is a major requirement.

Key Skills:

• Strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server and MYSQL administration.
• Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO) using SQL Server tools.
• Proficient in backup, restore, and recovery processes.
• Knowledge of High Availability (HA), Database Replication configuration and Disaster Recovery (DR) for SQL Server and MYSQL.
• Familiarity with Windows Server and Active Directory.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proactive, flexible, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Capable of managing multiple tasks and switching between activities efficiently.
