Job Title: Retail Manager

Responsibilities
Create a unique retail experience in line with thebrand
Manage the shop to ensure a creative and inspiring layout, lighting, and stock display
Set annual trading budgets and targets
Full responsibility for managing the retail trading budget and profit and loss account, monitoring performance against agreed key performance indicators (KPIs)
Develop and maintain suitable measures and systems for controlling stock control, to ensure sufficient levels of stock at minimum stock holding and to keep write-off stock to a minimum
Analyze sales figures, interpret trends and forecast future sales volumes to maximize profit
Maximize retail turnover and profit working to grow the business
Partner with the senior management team to identify potential income generation opportunities from alternative commercial sources to ensure the organization’s long-term financial viability
Work with the head of business development to ensure that business development activities are complementary and all potential income generation activities are exploited
Ensure effective systems for cash handling and retail banking are in place, reviewing and updating business processes as necessary
Ensure that the shop offers visitors a range of products at appropriate pricing levels and meets the organization's income targets
Work with the sales team to develop limited edition commissions and multiples from exhibiting artists
Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures through retail management and staff meetings, store walk-throughs and audits, etc.
Continually evaluate and react to performance issues and actively recruit retail candidates
Collaborate with the sales manager to set daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets for all retail staff and contribute significantly to meeting the targets
Analyze sales figures and forecast future sales volumes to maximize profits
Provide support to the fashion buyer, the home/furniture buyer, the general manager as well as the CEO in identifying brands to be featured in the store portfolio
Monitor low-performing brands and suggest methods to drive quick, sustained and effective turnaround in performance
Organize all store operations and allocate responsibilities to personnel
Supervise and guide staff towards maximum performance
Qualifications and Experience
BSc. / HND in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field
Experience in luxury industry
Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Retail Manager
