Job Title: Production Support Supervisor

About the Role

• Our client is seeking a dedicated Production Support Supervisor to join their operations team.
• This role is essential for coordinating shift production activities to ensure high productivity levels and compliance with Safety and Quality standards.
• he Production Support Supervisor will also be responsible for supervising all workers on the shift, leading the team to maximize output of quality products while minimizing costs.

Key Responsibilities
Production Planning:

• Identify resource needs and ensure the production schedule is met.
• Execute daily production schedules to meet production targets.
• Hold beginning and end-of-shift meetings with key personnel to plan production and hand off to the next shift.
• Coordinate battery breakers to achieve a minimum of 40MT per day.

HSE Compliance:

• Follow and enforce all safety rules and regulations.
• Conduct daily toolbox meetings at the beginning of each shift and weekly safety talks.
• Ensure new workers are well inducted before assignment to the production line.
• Review work areas for safety compliance and safe work conditions.
• Document and report all safety incidents and near misses according to policy before leaving at the end of the shift.
• Provide employees with the tools and paperwork required for job performance and safety.
• Ensure all employees correctly wear and use required personal protective equipment.
• Complete daily checklists per the Production Manager’s requirements, including all quality and safety checks.

People Coordination:

• Enforce policies, procedures, attendance, work, and safety rules, ensuring all paperwork is completed accurately and timely.
• Assign employees to tasks for the shift, including direct and indirect labor roles, and provide instructions on job performance.
• Collaborate with the Production Manager to execute performance reviews.
• Ensure all employees understand expectations regarding safety, attendance, performance, and adherence to work instructions.

Reports:

• Submit accurate reports at the end of each shift on production and manning activities.
• Monitor all shift activities to maximize material and labor utilization and minimize scrap.
• Ensure various components (tops, lead plates, and plastics) of separated batteries are scaled and recorded.

Factory Housekeeping:

• Adhere to 5S principles of manufacturing.
• Maintain general housekeeping of the production areas.
• Ensure all parts of the factory are properly maintained and equipment is functioning well.

Process Improvement:

• Propose improvements to reduce product costs, increase output and uptime, decrease expenses, and provide a better and safer work environment.

Educational Qualification

• HND or B.Sc in a relevant field.
• Production/Operations Management certifications are desirable.

What We Are Looking For:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Production Supervisor.
• Experience in supplier and people management.
• Proven ability to develop and motivate a team effectively.
• Experience in handling and reporting production information.
• Problem-solving skills and prior work experience in a factory/production environment.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and production software.
• Knowledge of metals and production activities.
• Strong team player with excellent time management and prioritization skills.
• Proven negotiating skills and tenacity in problem-solving and acquiring key information.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with strong influencing abilities.
• Preparedness to work extended hours if required.

Salary Range
N180,000 - N200,000 / Monthly gross.
