We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Senior Electrical Engineer

Location: Trans Amadi, Port Harcourt - Rivers
Type of contract: Regular position

Activities

• Develop design of integrated electrical systems (Electrical design basis, Transformers, short circuit current, load sharing, load shedding, single line diagrams, cable sizing…) 
• Carries out preliminary, basic and detailed facilities engineering studies / design in-house. 
• Ensures that the facilities Engineering Contractors submit all deliverables on time and checks/reviews them regularly to achieve Company quality expectations. 
• Prepares single line diagrams, electrical design calculations such as cable sizing calculations, lighting calculations etc., specifications for electrical materials, 
• Prepares layout drawings such as cable routings, lighting layouts, earthing layout etc.
• Prepares requisitions for Electrical materials procurement and technical bids evaluation. 
• Reads and interprets engineering drawings, specs and make necessary modifications or recommendations. 
• Interfaces with Procurement Dept., Project & Construction department & Field Ops (Electrical) for engineering related issues. 
• Draw up and cross-check relevant procedures, international standards and TOTALENERGIES General Specifications. 
• Prepares CFT for Electrical engineering activities and relevant technical evaluation. 
• Follows-up Purchase Orders to ensure timely approval, conformity of design & participates in reviews and FAT of electrical equipment such as switchboards, distribution panels, transformers, electric motors etc. with Vendors 
• Checks, comments diligently and approves Electrical engineering deliverables received from Contractors or Third Parties and makes sure that comments are incorporated in revised documentation. 
• Checks that the design is developed in line with the Pre-Project studies and the Statement of Requirements. 
• Coordinates with FOPs in both DW & JV Assets for integration of new electrical systems into the existing facilities. 
• Provides electrical engineering discipline support on Engineering and Construction activities. 
• Reviews the deliverables of Electrical engineers and Designers in the team for technical quality before final review by the Head of Section. 
• Provides support to the Head of Section in managing the team, whenever there is a spike in the workload, by attending meetings, preparing reports, and undertaking other administrative duties on his behalf. 
• Acts as DOA and takes responsibility for the activities of the team whenever the Head of Section is unavailable

Context & Environment:

• Context: Engineering studies for production facilities modifications or medium size brown field projects. 
• Work location based in Lagos. Sites: Production sites Onshore, Offshore and Deepwater. 
• Major clients are DW & JV FOP’s Dept, HSE, Development and Planning. 
• Constraints:          
  • Client Statement of requirement (SOR) not detailed and as built documentation not complete.         
  • 100% Nigerian local content constraints to be applied in a local Engineering         
  • Tight delivery milestones which is a function of Operational objectives

Additional Information:

• Effective and timely delivery of electrical deliverables 
• Ensure all generated electrical deliverables meet acceptable quality. 
• Verify electrical engineering and design deliverables comply with COMPANY general specifications and applicable project electrical specifications. 

Candidate Profile

• Minimum Qualification: B.Sc. / B.Eng.(Electrical Engineering) with 5-10 years’ experience in an Engineering Organization (oil and gas related) in a similar design position. NSE/COREN Membership required 
•  Use of Power tools, MS word, MS excel is required. Working knowledge of IEC Standards and most common international standards. Knowledge of ETAP, Autocad and PDMS is an advantage.
