West Africa Vocational Education (WAVE) - Our client, a growing Nursery and Primary School, is recruiting to fill the position below:WAVE is solving what is arguably the biggest challenge on the continent: youth unemployment. In West Africa, 40-85% of youth, more than 50 million, are either unemployed or underemployed. Meanwhile, job creation in the region is on the rise. The disconnect between work-ready youth and the employment market must be bridged.

Job Title: Communications Lead

Location: Lagos

Job Summary

• The Communications Lead will be responsible for developing and implementing effective communication strategies to enhance our brand, reputation, and engagement with key stakeholders.
• This role involves overseeing the creation of compelling content, managing media relations, and coordinating both internal and external communication initiatives

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a strong, consistent brand identity across all communication channels.
• Oversee the creation of high-quality content, including press releases, articles, social media posts, presentations, and other marketing materials.
• Build and maintain relationships with media outlets, manage media inquiries, and secure favorable media coverage.
• Develop and implement effective internal communication strategies to keep employees informed and engaged.
• Develop and implement crisis communication plans and respond effectively to potential crises.
• Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute digital marketing strategies, including social media, email marketing, and content marketing.
• Coordinate and manage internal and external events, such as conferences, webinars, and workshops.
• Lead and mentor a team of communication and creative interns.

Skills & Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in corporate communications.
• Strong writing and editing skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience with digital marketing and social media platforms.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Experience with crisis communication and reputation management.
