Job Title: Procurement Officer

Location: Illupeju, Lagos

Job Summary

• We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Procurement Officer with at least 3 years of experience in procuring packaging materials. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the procurement process of materials such as corrugated cartons, mono cartons, rigid packaging, and flexible packaging to meet the company’s production and operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the production team to understand their forecasted demand and ensure that procurement activities align with production schedules.
• Responsible for the procurement and inventory management of all packaging materials for both chi farms and Cormart
• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, negotiating pricing and contracts, to ensure the availability of necessary materials to meet production requirements.
• Monitor and track procurement expenses to ensure budget compliance, analyze trends and make recommendations for cost reductions.
• Work with the logistics team to coordinate the delivery of goods and ensure the timely receipt of materials.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies related to procurement and supply chain management.
• Maintain price tracker for all purchases items wise
• Reduce cost for the purchases of all items of all category of products handled
• Strengthen vendor data base for products put in charge by registering reliable, competitive, corporate sources mainly Authorized distributor, dealers, manufacturer, importers, and avoid middle men’s business
• purchases on credit and get extra credit terms from vendors
• Ensure quotes and costing comparison sheet are obtained within 48 hours from receiving the request from the requester
• generate LPO within 72 hours from the date of receiving the request from the requester after getting approval on the costing comparison sheet
• manage efficiently the stock of inventory items for all products category procured.
• Maintain the minimum, maximum stock level and the re order level for inventory items for all items procured for both Cormart and Chi Farms
• Provide update to the requester frequently as at when requested
• Provide weekly reports to HOD such us, task tracker report, price trend report, monthly purchase report per product , per vendor , monthly power point presentation that captures procurement strategy on cost saving , actual achievement of cost saving and challenges < other reports as requested
• meet up with additional responsibility that will be assigned by HOD
• ensure that deliveries all materials supplied takes place with in maximum of one week for non-emergency orders and 2 days max for emergency orders
• meet the Av.target price for steel drums at 5500 naira each and IBC tank at 20,000 each
• convert majority of l drums and tanks purchases to corporate sources
• Ensure to maintain 7500 Steel Drums and 600 IBC tank at any given time which is considered the minimum stock level for each

Requirements

• Degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related field is preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of procurement experience in packaging materials (corrugated cartons, mono cartons, rigid packaging, and flexible packaging).
• Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
• Knowledge of packaging industry standards and sourcing best practices.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
