We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Aviation Security (AVSEC) Officer

Location: Ikeja, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct security screening of passengers, luggage, cargo, and airport staff in compliance with local and international aviation security regulations.
• Operate security equipment such as X-ray machines, metal detectors, and explosive trace detection systems.
• Enforce security protocols in restricted areas of the airport, ensuring no unauthorized access.
• Respond to security incidents and emergencies, following established procedures.
• Collaborate with law enforcement agencies and other airport stakeholders to ensure a secure environment.
• Carry out surveillance and patrols within airport premises to detect suspicious activities.
• Participate in regular security drills, training, and briefings to stay updated with current security standards and practices.
• Assist in maintaining detailed reports of security incidents and daily operations for audit purposes.

Qualifications

• BSC/HND/OND or equivalent; additional certification or previous training in Aviation security is a plus
• Knowledge of ICAO and IATA security standards.
• Physically fit and able to stand or walk for extended periods.
• Strong observational skills and the ability to make sound judgments quickly.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle stressful situations effectively.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Must pass a background check and obtain security clearance as required by airport authorities.
