We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Structural Engineer

Location: Lekki Phase 1, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities
Structural Design and Analysis:

• Design and analyze structural elements of buildings, such as beams, columns, slabs, and foundations.
• Prepare structural calculations and use industry software to model and simulate load conditions.

Project Management and Supervision:

• Oversee the structural aspects of ongoing construction projects.
• Monitor site activities to ensure compliance with structural designs, safety standards, and building codes.

Collaboration with stakeholders:

• Work closely with architects, contractors, and other engineers to develop coordinated designs.
• Review and interpret architectural and engineering drawings to provide practical construction solutions.

Compliance and quality assurance:

• Ensure that all designs and construction activities comply with relevant codes, regulations, and standards.
• Perform inspections and issue certificates of structural stability where required.

Reporting and Documentation:

• Prepare detailed reports on structural assessments, test results, and project progress.
• Maintain accurate records of calculations, drawings, and project documentation.

Risk Management:

• Identify potential risks and suggest mitigation strategies to ensure project safety and longevity.
• Provide solutions to on-site challenges and unexpected structural issues during construction.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (a Master’s Degree is an advantage).
• 4 - 5 years of experience in structural engineering, preferably in real estate or construction projects.
• Proficiency in structural design software such as AutoCAD, ETABS, SAP2000, or STAAD.Pro.
• Strong knowledge of building codes, construction materials, and engineering principles.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively with non-technical stakeholders.
• Certification with COREN or other relevant professional bodies is an advantage.
