We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Data Scientist

Location: Apapa, Lagos

Job Purpose

• To design data strategy and models that transform raw data into actionable insights / intelligence, customized and fit for purpose to predict outcomes, optimize processes, and identify trends to aid data-driven business decision making.

Duties

• Oversee the design, collection, storage, analysis, implementation and interpretation of data for businesses, as well as developing and implementing machine learning models to extract valuable insights that can inform business decisions and the performance, integrity, data consistency, and security of the database.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business needs and build models that translate them into data-driven solutions.
• Create predictive reports by exploring data warehouses and presenting insights for business use.
• Define and implement data management policies and plan database structures and access strategies.
• Coordinate the accurate creation and updating of Master Data.
• Transform data into formats suitable for analysis & models that are interpretable and aligned with business objectives, thus enabling stakeholders to make decisions that are fact-based evidence and predictive insights.
• Continuously improve data processes by staying current with emerging technologies and best practices.

Qualification and experience

• BSC/HND in mathematics, statistics or any related field.
• Professional Certification will be an added advantage.
• 5-7 Years cognate experience.

The Person must:

• Possess excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Have good knowledge of statistics and probability.
• Possess expertise in business intelligence solutions such as Power BI and Qlik.
• Be an expert in programming languages such as Python or R and SQL.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Have strong analytical and critical thinking.
• Have a good understanding of cloud computing.
