Job Description

• We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Physical & Health Education Teacher to join our educational institution in Benin City, Nigeria.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering engaging physical education and health programmes that promote students' physical fitness, well-being, and overall health awareness.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement comprehensive physical education and health curricula for students of various age groups and abilities
• Conduct engaging and safe physical education classes, introducing students to a wide range of sports and physical activities
• Teach health education lessons covering topics such as nutrition, personal hygiene, and mental well-being
• Organise and supervise sports events, competitions, and fitness programmes within the school
• Assess and evaluate students' physical abilities, health knowledge, and overall progress
• Maintain a safe learning environment and ensure proper use of sports equipment and facilities
• Collaborate with other teachers and staff to integrate physical education and health concepts across the curriculum
• Provide individualized support and encouragement to students, promoting a positive attitude towards physical activity and healthy living

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Health Education, or NCE trained.
• Valid teaching certification or licence as required by Nigerian education authorities
• Proven experience in teaching physical education and health (preferred)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and engage students
• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive learning environment
• Proficiency in developing age-appropriate curricula and lesson plans
• In-depth knowledge of various sports, physical activities, and health and wellness concepts
• First Aid and CPR certification
• Physical fitness and ability to demonstrate sports techniques and activities
• Familiarity with safety procedures and injury prevention in sports and physical activities
• Experience in coaching sports teams (desirable).
