Job Description

• The Core Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the core network infrastructure, ensuring high availability, reliability, and scalability.
• This role requires expertise in network protocols, architectures, and technologies.

Responsibilities
Design and Implementation:

• Design and implement core network architectures, including routing, switching, and security.
• Plan and deploy network upgrades, expansions, and migrations.
• Ensure network scalability, reliability, and performance.

Network Operations:

• Monitor and troubleshoot core network issues.
• Perform network configuration, backup, and restoration.
• Ensure network security, compliance, and regulatory adherence.

Maintenance and Optimization:

• Conduct regular network audits and assessments.
• Optimize network performance, capacity, and utilization.
• Implement network management and monitoring tools.

Collaboration and Support:

• Work with cross-functional teams (e.g., security, IT, operations).
• Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers.
• Collaborate with vendors and partners.

Requirements
Expertise in:

• Routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP).
• Switching protocols (STP, VLANs, MPLS).
• Network security (firewalls, VPNs, ACLs).
• Network management protocols (SNMP, NetFlow).

Proficiency in:

• Cisco IOS, Juniper JUNOS, or equivalent.
• Network architecture design and planning.
• Network simulation and modeling tools.

Familiarity with:

• Cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Software-defined networking (SDN) and network functions virtualization (NFV).

Education and Certifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Networking, or related field.
• Industry-recognized certifications (e.g., CCIE, CCNP, JNCIE).

Experience

• 3-4 years of experience in core network engineering.
• Experience with large-scale network deployments.
• Proven track record of network design and implementation.

Soft Skills:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and collaboration.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
