Green Concern for Development (GREENCODE) is a National registered NGO with CAC No: CAC/IT/NO 25643 and has been in operation for over 10 years. Our mission is to work with the poor and socially excluded people and government for the promotion of environmental and human rights protection in communities in Nigeria, aimed at poverty reduction through education, information sharing, research, training, and direct impact interventions are in humanitarian emergency response and development, with physical presence in Borno, Yobe, Adamawa, Abuja, Cross River, Akwa Ibom States.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Communications / ICT Intern

Location: Maiduguri, Borno
Employment Type: Temporary
Duration: 3 months

Summary

• The Communications Intern will assist the communications manager and team in various communication and technology related tasks, including communications, incident management, and cyber security assessments.

Responsibilities

• Creating engaging content for newsletters.
• Providing assistance to manager with the scheduling and organizing of events.
• Suggesting creative ways to improve the organization’s public image.
• Assist in monitoring and analyzing cyber security alerts and incidents to identify potential threats.
• Photo, video and audio editing, photography, videography, Gifs, animations and graphics
• Prepare media reports on assigned subjects.
• Create and manage PowerPoint presentations.
• Report preparation for meetings and presentations.
• General administrative and communications support as assigned.

Requirements

• BA or BSc degree in public relations, communication, or journalism.
• Must have completed NYSC
• Excellent understanding of various social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram.
• Efficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• 0 - 1 year work experience
• Comfortable with public speaking and engaging with stakeholders.
• Good research and analytical skills.
• The ability to prioritize your workload and keep to strict content deadlines.
• Willingness to attend corporate events on weekends.
• Knowledge of copywriting and editing.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to “think outside the box” while identifying problems and developing creative solutions.
• Ability to work in a distributed and remote team.
• Good communication and organization skills.
• Note that this is an internal/externalrecruitment.
