Job Title: Network Security Engineer (Mid-Level) - Remote

Description 

• We’re seeking a skilled and proactive Network Security Engineer (Mid-Level) to join our innovative team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for fortifying and optimizing our network infrastructure, ensuring robust protection for enterprise systems. This is an exciting opportunity to work remotely from Nigeria, contributing to global projects while collaborating with a forward-thinking team.

Key Responsibilities

• Network Design & Implementation: Plan, configure, and maintain secure and scalable network architectures, following best practices to ensure reliability and high performance.
• Firewall & VPN Management: Set up and manage security features such as firewalls, intrusion prevention systems (IPS), and VPNs to secure remote access and protect against external threats.
• Monitoring & Risk Assessment: Use network monitoring tools like Wireshark, Nagios, and SolarWinds to analyze network traffic, conduct vulnerability assessments, and identify areas of improvement or potential security breaches.
• Automation & Efficiency: Implement automation processes using tools like Python or Ansible to streamline network configuration and monitoring, reducing manual efforts and enhancing network consistency.
• Collaboration: Work closely with IT and cybersecurity teams to align network security strategies with the organization’s broader security objectives.
• Compliance & Best Practices: Ensure all network configurations and security practices are compliant with industry standards and frameworks, including NIST, ISO 27001, and CIS benchmarks.

Qualifications & Experience

• Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in Network Engineering, Information Security, or a related field. Additional certifications or practical courses in network management are a plus.
• Professional Experience: 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in managing secure networks for medium to large enterprises.
• Strong background in configuring and monitoring network systems with a focus on security.

Certifications:

• Highly Desired: Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Security, CompTIA Network+, Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Security.
• Bonus certifications: Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) or similar.

Technical Expertise:

• Strong understanding of key network protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, BGP, VPNs, and MPLS.
• Experience with VLAN configuration, network segmentation, and advanced routing practices.
• Proficient with firewall technologies (Cisco ASA, Fortinet, Juniper SRX) and VPN gateways.
• Familiar with tools like Wireshark, Nagios, and SolarWinds for network analysis and infrastructure management.
• Automation Skills: Ability to leverage Python or Ansible to automate network monitoring and configuration tasks.

Salary
N400,000 - N500,000 per month.
