Job Summary

• We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Mechanical Technician to join our offshore operations team.

• This role, under the Production Operations Fitters family, is open to expatriates (non-Nigerians) with extensive expertise in mechanical maintenance and repair, particularly in offshore environments such as FPSOs or rigs.

Position Overview

• As a Senior Mechanical Technician, you will play a vital role in maintaining and optimizing mechanical systems critical to offshore production operations.
• This position requires advanced technical knowledge, leadership skills, and a commitment to ensuring the reliability and safety of all mechanical equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect, troubleshoot, and perform maintenance on critical mechanical systems, including pumps, compressors, turbines, and rotating equipment.
• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance to minimize equipment downtime and ensure operational efficiency.
• Lead the execution of complex mechanical repair tasks, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address mechanical challenges and improve system performance.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior technicians, sharing best practices and expertise.
• Ensure accurate documentation of maintenance activities, including work orders, reports, and equipment logs.
• Follow health, safety, and environmental regulations and ensure that all maintenance activities comply with company and industry standards.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Experience: Minimum of 10 years in mechanical maintenance, with at least 5 years in offshore oil and gas operations.
• Education: Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.

Certifications:

• Offshore safety certifications (e.g., BOSIET, HUET).
• Specialized certifications in mechanical systems maintenance, such as rotating equipment or turbine systems.

Technical Expertise:

• Advanced knowledge of offshore mechanical systems, including rotating and static equipment.
• Proficiency in diagnostic tools and techniques for mechanical troubleshooting.
• Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.
• Flexibility: Willingness to work in remote offshore locations and under challenging conditions.
