Job Title: Storekeeper

Location: Benin, Edo
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

• The Storekeeper will be responsible for managing inventory, ensuring accurate records, and maintaining the store’s cleanliness and organization.
• This role involves receiving, storing, and issuing supplies, materials, and equipment, and requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities
Inventory Management:

• Maintain accurate inventory records and manage stock levels by regularly performing counts and audits.
• Organize and label inventory to make it easily accessible for quick retrieval and efficient usage.
• Record and report any inventory discrepancies or issues to management.

Receiving and Inspection:

• Receive shipments, verify quantities, inspect quality, and check for damages or defects.
• Ensure all items received are recorded correctly, and update inventory records as needed.
• Coordinate with suppliers to resolve discrepancies and facilitate returns if necessary.

Storage and Organization:

• Arrange materials and products within the store to maintain cleanliness and optimize space.
• Implement a systematic arrangement of goods, ensuring easy access for all staff.
• Maintain safety standards in the storage area, including the proper handling and storage of hazardous or sensitive materials.

Issuing and Dispatching Materials:

• Respond to requests for supplies or products, issuing items in a timely and accurate manner.
• Track issued materials and maintain clear records to prevent loss or misplacement.
• Prepare orders for dispatch, ensuring all items are packed and labeled correctly.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Maintain accurate and organized records of inventory transactions, deliveries, and stock levels.
• Prepare regular reports for management on inventory status, usage patterns, and other relevant metrics.
• Participate in periodic stock takes, reconciliations, and audits as required by management.

General Store Maintenance:

• Keep the storage area clean, organized, and free of clutter.
• Follow all health and safety regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) when needed.
• Report any maintenance issues or hazards in the store to management promptly.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience as a storekeeper, warehouse associate, or in inventory management preferred.
• Basic knowledge of inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
• Physical stamina to handle lifting, moving, and organizing items as needed.

Skills:

• Excellent time-management and organizational abilities.
• Good communication skills for liaising with team members and suppliers.
• Basic computer skills for inventory tracking and reporting.
• Problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude to handle issues that may arise in the store.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and move heavy items up to [specified weight] pounds.
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching.

Salary
N80,000 - N90,000 / month.
