Job Title: Pizza Chef

Location: Lagos

Responsibilities
Pizza Preparation and Cooking:

• Prepare pizza dough from scratch or according to company recipes.
• Prepare pizza toppings, sauces, and ingredients.
• Assemble pizzas by applying sauce, cheese, and toppings in the correct proportions.
• Cook pizzas in a high-temperature oven, ensuring they are properly baked and achieve the desired quality.
• Monitor cooking times and temperatures to ensure perfect pizza quality.

Ingredient Management:

• Ensure the proper storage of ingredients, including refrigeration and shelf management.
• Manage inventory levels of pizza toppings, dough, and other supplies.
• Help maintain the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including food prep areas and ovens.

Customer Service and Presentation:

• Ensure each pizza is visually appealing, with an even distribution of toppings and a well-baked crust.
• Communicate with kitchen staff and front-of-house staff to ensure orders are completed correctly and in a timely manner.
• Respond to specific customer preferences or dietary restrictions (e.g., gluten-free, vegan).

Quality Control:

• Maintain a high standard of food quality and consistency.
• Ensure pizzas meet both taste and aesthetic standards as per restaurant specifications.
• Conduct taste tests to ensure the flavor and texture of dough, sauces, and toppings are ideal.

Health and Safety:

• Adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations to prevent cross-contamination and foodborne illnesses.
• Maintain cleanliness of pizza preparation areas and cooking equipment.
• Follow proper hygiene practices and safety protocols when handling kitchen equipment.

Collaboration and Teamwork:

• Work closely with other kitchen staff, including prep cooks, dishwashers, and managers, to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
• Assist in training junior staff or new hires in pizza preparation and cooking methods.

Other Duties:

• Assist in other kitchen tasks as needed, including preparing salads, appetizers, or other items.
• Assist with cleaning and maintaining kitchen equipment, including pizza ovens and prep areas.

Qualification

• 2 - 3 years of work experience.
