Job Description

• We are seeking a visionary and experienced Head of Computer Science Department to lead our esteemed academic unit. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the future of computer science education and research in our institution.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and direction for the Computer Science Department, aligning with the school's mission and goals
• Must be social media/tech savvy, be able to download and upload documents online, picture and video editing, cinematography, etc
• Oversee the development and implementation of innovative curricula and academic programmes
• Foster a culture of excellence in teaching, research, and community engagement
• Manage departmental resources, including budget allocation and staff development
• Ensure compliance with academic standards and accreditation requirements
• Mentor and support faculty members in their professional development and research endeavours
• Drive the department's growth and enhance its reputation nationally and internationally

Requirements

• PhD or Masters in Computer Science or a closely related field.
• Extensive experience in teaching and research within the computer science discipline
• Proven track record of academic leadership and management in a higher education setting
• In-depth knowledge of various computer science disciplines and current technological trends
• Strong strategic planning and decision-making abilities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams
• Proficiency in curriculum development and academic programme management
• Familiarity with academic policies, procedures, and accreditation processes
• Ability to adapt to the unique challenges and opportunities within the Nigerian higher education landscape
