Job Title: Credit Risk Officer

Location: Sabo - Yaba, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough credit assessments of potential clients.
• Review and assess credit applications and make informed decisions on credit approvals.
• Monitor and analyze credit data to determine the risk involved in lending.
• Evaluate the creditworthiness of existing customers and provide recommendations.
• Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.
• Identify potential risks and propose solutions to mitigate them.
• Monitor and track the performance of credit portfolios.
• Prepare detailed credit reports and present findings to key stakeholders.
• Liaise with internal teams to ensure compliance with credit policies and regulations.
• Contribute to the development and enhancement of credit risk models.
• Assess market trends and industry risks that may impact the organization.
• Provide insights and recommendations to improve credit processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize credit risk strategies.
• Stay updated on industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
• Support the overall risk management framework of the company.

Essential Skills and Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field.
• 2 - 5 years proven work experience as a Credit Risk Officer or in a similar role within the financial industry.
• Strong understanding of credit risk analysis and management principles.
• Familiarity with credit risk models, methodologies, and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex financial data.
• Proficiency in financial analysis tools and software.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in credit assessments.
• Effective communication skills with the ability to present findings and recommendations.
