Job Title: Self Loader Driver

Job Summary

• We are looking to hire an experienced Self Loader Driver with at least 5 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry to join our team in Benin, Edo State.
• The ideal candidate should be to operate a self-loader to transport goods and materials across states, coordinate with other workers, and ensure compliance with loading procedures.

Job Responsibilities

• Must be able to operate self-loader and load truck
• Drive self-loader across states of the Federation
• Handle all kinds of goods and materials by using moving equipment
• Must be able to operate loading and unloading equipment
• Work as a team member and respect co-workers
• Examine vehicle to detect malfunctions, damage, or maintenance needed
• Report all vehicles maintenance and repairs issues to workshop manager
• Verify the products being delivered match the orders
• Safely load, unload, and secure cargo following proper handling and safety procedures.
• Plan routes and schedules to optimize efficiency and minimize travel time, considering traffic conditions and delivery requirements.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure roadworthiness and compliance with safety standards.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and brakes, and report any issues or defects for repair.
• Uphold professional conduct and appearance at all times, representing the company positively to clients, customers, and the public.
• Stay updated on traffic regulations, road closures, and detours to plan alternative routes and avoid delays.
• Must be able to perform other tasks assigned.

Requirements and Skills

• Candidates should possess minimum of SSCE qualification with 5 years work experience.
• Ability to use Google Map
• Clean driving record with no major traffic violations or accidents in the past.
• Good knowledge of roads and traffic patterns
• Familiarity with vehicle maintenance and safety procedures.
• Good physical health and stamina to withstand long hours of driving and heavy lifting.
• Excellent driving skills, including defensive driving techniques and safe vehicle operation.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and adherence to rules and regulations.
• Willing to submit to background/drug checks and provide employment recommendations Valid driver's license; commercial driver's license (CDL).
