Job Title: Project Accountant

Location: Jibowu, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

• The Project Accountant will be responsible for managing financial aspects of projects, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
• This role requires strong accounting skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities.Must have a construction experience

Key Responsibilities
Financial Management:

• Manage project budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
• Track and analyze project expenses, identifying areas for cost optimization.
• Ensure accurate and timely invoicing and accounts receivable management.
• Monitor project cash flow and make recommendations for improvement.

Accounting and Reporting:

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date project accounting records.
• Prepare and review project financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements.
• Analyze and report on project performance metrics (e.g., ROI, NPV).
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

Project Coordination:

• Collaborate with project managers to develop project budgets and financial plans.
• Provide financial guidance and support to project teams.
• Identify and mitigate financial risks associated with projects.
• Ensure project deliverables are met within budget and timeline.

Compliance and Internal Control:

• Ensure adherence to organizational policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure compliance.
• Identify areas for process improvement.

Communication and Stakeholder Management:

• Communicate project financial performance to stakeholders (e.g., project managers, executives).
• Provide financial training and support to project team members.
• Develop and maintain relationships with external partners and vendors.

Requirements
Education:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

Experience:

• 6+ years of experience in project accounting or similar role.
• Experience with project management software and accounting systems.

Skills:

• Strong accounting and financial analysis skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel.
• Familiarity with project management methodologies.
