Job Overview

• A welder is responsible for joining, fabricating, and repairing metal components using various welding techniques.
• The role involves interpreting blueprints, selecting appropriate materials, and ensuring welds meet quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform welding tasks using methods such as MIG, TIG, Stick (Arc), and gas welding.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work specifications.
• Operate welding equipment, including torches, grinders, and cutting machines.
• Inspect and test welded joints to ensure structural integrity and compliance with specifications.
• Prepare metal surfaces by cutting, grinding, or cleaning to ensure proper welds.
• Maintain and repair welding equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and engineers to complete projects.
• Follow safety protocols and ensure adherence to OSHA and other regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a welder or in a similar role.
• Proficiency in various welding techniques (MIG, TIG, arc welding, etc.).
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
• Knowledge of welding tools, materials, and safety equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Physical stamina and the ability to work in various conditions (e.g., heights, confined spaces, outdoors).
• Welding certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Welder) are preferred.

Work Environment:

• Exposure to high temperatures, loud noise, and welding fumes.
• May involve working in awkward positions or lifting heavy materials.
