Job Title: Chef

Job Summary

• We are seeking a skilled and creative Chef to join our team. As a Chef, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a wide range of delicious dishes, managing kitchen operations, and maintaining high standards of food quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities
Food Preparation and Cooking:

• Prepare and cook meals according to recipes and menu plans
• Ensure dishes are presented attractively and served hot and fresh
• Develop new recipes and menus to keep offerings fresh and exciting

Kitchen Management:

• Oversee kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating
• Manage kitchen staff, including training, scheduling, and performance evaluation
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment

Food Quality and Safety:

• Ensure all food is prepared and stored safely and hygienically
• Conduct regular quality control checks to maintain high standards
• Implement and maintain food safety protocols and procedures

Inventory Management:

• Order and manage inventory of ingredients and supplies
• Monitor stock levels and minimize waste

Collaboration and Communication:

• Work with other chefs, kitchen staff, and restaurant management to ensure smooth service
• Communicate effectively with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service

Requirements
Educational Qualification and Training:

• Culinary Arts Degree or equivalent training
• Certification in food safety and handling (e.g., HACCP)

Experience:

• 4+ years of experience as a Chef in a restaurant or commercial kitchen
• Experience in menu planning, kitchen management, and staff supervision

Skills:

• Strong culinary skills and knowledge of cooking techniques
• Excellent leadership, communication, and teamwork skills
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety

Working Conditions:

• Physical Demands:Stand for long periods, lift heavy objects, and work in a fast-paced environment
• Work Schedule:Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Salary
N600,000 - N1,000,000 / Annum
