We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Senior Executive - Accounts

Locations: Lagos Island, Isolo, Ikeja & Apapa - Lagos

Reports To: L1: Accounts Manager/Finance Manager; L2: General Manager, Finance

Role Summary

  • The Senior Executive Accounts will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting financial reporting, managing accounts payable and receivable, and assisting with the preparation of financial statements.
  • This role also involves managing bank reconciliations, tax compliance, and performing ad-hoc financial analysis to support business operations.

Key Responsibilities and Duties
Financial Record Keeping - 25%:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records by processing transactions in the accounting system.
  • Monitor and reconcile accounts payable and receivable to ensure timely and accurate transactions.

Financial Reporting - 20%:

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Support in analyzing financial data and generating reports for management review.

Tax Compliance - 15%:

  • Ensure proper documentation and assist in the preparation of VAT returns and other statutory filings.

Bank & Account Reconciliation - 10%:

  • Conduct monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial records.

Expense Monitoring - 10%:

  • Track company expenses and assist in aligning them with the approved budget.

Financial Analysis - 5%:

  • Provide financial analysis and assist with forecasting to support decision-making.

Audit Support - 5%:

  • Support external and internal audits by preparing relevant documentation and providing necessary assistance.

ERP/Accounting Systems - 5%:

  • Manage accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, ERP) to ensure accuracy and efficiency of processes.

Team Collaboration - 5%:

  • Work closely with the finance team and other departments to ensure smooth financial operations.

Qualifications and Skills
Qualification:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from a recognized Nigerian university.

Preferred:

  • Professional certifications such as ICAN, ACCA, CPA, or ACA are highly desirable.

Experience:

  • 1 to 4 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance roles.

Preferred:

  • Experience in using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or ERP systems.

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and Nigerian financial regulations.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Preferred:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office tools.
  • Knowledge of tax laws and financial reporting standards.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Analytical, proactive, and results-driven.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

Preferred:

  • Ability to maintain strict adherence to SOPs and ensure compliance across all financial areas.
