Job Title: Backend Developer (Intermediate Level) 

Location: Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Contract
Terms: Contract (Duration: 6 months)

Job Summary

• The Back-End Developer will design, build and maintain scalable and efficient backend services using Python/Django, Golang, or Node.js frameworks. 
• The ideal candidate will collaborate with front-end developers, DevOps engineers, and product managers to deliver robust full-stack solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain robust, scalable backend logic and RESTful APIs using Python/Django, Golang, or Node.js.
• Design and manage SQL/NoSQL databases, ensuring data integrity and optimized queries.
• Integrate third-party APIs and services (e.g., payment gateways, authentication).
• Collaborate with frontend developers on API design and integration.
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and project planning.
• Troubleshoot and resolve performance bottlenecks, bugs, and security vulnerabilities.
• Write unit and integration tests.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of backend development best practices.
• Contribute to technical documentation and adhere to coding standards.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements / Required Skills

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, MIS, or a related field or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• 2+ years of experience in backend development.
• Strong proficiency in at least one of: Python/Django, Golang, or Node.js.
• Experience with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
• Solid understanding of database technologies (SQL and NoSQL).
• Knowledge of version control systems (Git).
• Experience with automated testing and CI/CD pipelines.
• Basic understanding of frontend technologies.
• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Strong collaboration and teamwork abilities.
