Location: Victoria Island, Lagos

Job Overview

  • Our client in the fashion and textile industry is looking for a proactive, strategic, and results-driven Business Development Officer to join our team and elevate our business to new heights. 
  • This role will focus on identifying new business opportunities, fostering strong client relationships, and implementing strategies to boost sales.

Key Responsibilities

  • Market Research and Analysis: Conduct research to identify potential markets and customer needs in the fabric sector.
  • Lead Generation: Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including B2B partnerships, retail expansions, and potential distributors.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain relationships with key clients, both existing and new, to ensure long-term partnerships.
  • Sales Strategy Development: Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve business growth objectives and increase market share.
  • Networking: Attend industry events, trade shows, and other relevant events to build a strong network and promote the company’s offerings.
  • Proposal Writing and Negotiations: Draft business proposals and close deals to secure new business opportunities.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the sales and product development teams to align business development activities with overall company goals.

Qualifications

  • Education: Minimum of OND in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field (preferred but not mandatory if experience is relevant).
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 2 years experience in business development, sales, or a related role within the fabric, textiles, or fashion industry.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). CRM knowledge is a plus.
    • Comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Proven experience in business development, sales, or a related role within the fabric, textiles, or fashion industry.
  • Strong understanding of the fashion market, including key players, trends, and product offerings.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative in driving business goals.
