Job Title: Editor

Location: Ikeja, Lagos

Job Summary

• The ideal candidate will be responsible for editing, proofreading, and refining content to ensure clarity, accuracy, and alignment with the company’s tone and style guide.

Key Responsibilities

• Content Editing: Edit, proofread, and refine content for grammar, style, clarity, and consistency.
• Draft Review: Collaborate with writers and content creators to review and enhance drafts before publication.
• Fact-Checking: Verify accuracy and credibility of all content.
• Consistency & Formatting: Ensure uniform formatting, typography, headlines, and multimedia integration per editorial guidelines.
• Content Strategy Support: Work with the content and marketing teams to align editorial content with company objectives, including SEO optimization.
• Quality Control: Uphold high editorial standards to maintain the company’s voice and messaging.
• Feedback & Guidance: Provide constructive feedback to writers to improve content quality.
• Final Approval: Oversee final content signoffs and ensure timely publication.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, English, Communications, or a related field (preferred but not required)
• Proven experience as an Editor, Content Editor, or similar role, with a strong portfolio.
• Excellent command of the English language.
• Strong attention to detail, with expertise in grammar, punctuation, and syntax.
• Familiarity with SEO best practices and web content editing.
• Proficiency in editing tools (e.g., Microsoft Word, Google Docs, Grammarly, or industry-specific software).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in video or multimedia editing.
• Familiarity with Content Management Systems (CMS).
• Knowledge of social media trends and digital marketing.
• Background in Advertising industry.

Salary
N120,000 -  N150,000 monthly.
